I've bought a lot of portable CD players over the past few years because they don't last very long. My first CD player was a Sony and it lasted a very long time. I bought Insignia CD players because Sony no longer makes or sells them. The first Insignia worked for about 6 months and stopped working. The second and third Insignia players worked, but the volume knob didn't work and stayed at full volume. The last Insignia I bought didn't work at all so I tried this Tyler player. I've had it for a few weeks and it's still working.
