The product does not grip the chain so the plunger is centered over the chain rivet. As a result, considerable force is required to manually reposition the plunger while simultaneously tightening the screw/knob to extend the plunger and eject the chain rivet. In addition, the ram relaxes when the rivet is pressed. I used both of the included pistons and squeezed them like mushrooms to take out a motorcycle chain link with a 520 o-ring. I'm not sure I'll be using it in its current state. My recommendation: try another tool; this one doesn't seem to be well made.
