I'm a computer scientist and I work 8 hours a day in front of 9 27" monitors. I have several Samsung monitors (S27D390 - PLS type) and now also VN279Q. Unhappy with Samsung's picture (small 1/8 inch shadow on right edge ), I was hoping ASUS would be better. I "wanted" to send them back due to poor "text" quality and found the "VividPixel" setting (default is 25). and... wow! This is a GREAT monitor. The black levels are impressive. , text is clear with no noticeable highlights, WAY better than the S27. Too bad I didn't find it sooner.
