Working in industrial electronics and embedded systems, I am constantly faced with the need to make a reliable and durable connection to power supplies, PLCs, relays and other screw terminals. Attempting to use just stranded wire wrapped under screw terminals is just looking for trouble as it will snap and fall apart when tightened, causing both mechanical weakness and possible short circuits. In my world, tinning a wire under a bolted connection with solder is no-no, as the solder compresses over time and loosens the connection. The only way to correctly place the stranded wire under the screw terminal is to use the correct size ferrule along with a good quality crimping tool. This Preciva set is a staple in my toolbox and the unique square crimp has never let me down when making a quality connection. . This always gives me a physically strong, low-impedance contact. For the money it's the best I've found so far.
