This product does not work with Sony software (Toast 6 Lite). You need to buy Toast 6 Titanium which will cost you another $99. Once you have Toast 6 it will work just fine, but be careful what type of DVD-R you use. It works well with dual layer Fuji and Imation (probably Verbatim as well), but doesn't recognize Memorex. May 3, 2006 DVD-R Company UPDATE, it's more about the quality of the DVDs themselves. Funny how I gave away my cheap Memorex and Fuji DVDs to a friend and they work great on the built-in burner (Windows)!
