I bought cheap plastic oil filter wrenches. I bought aluminum wrenches for oil filters. There have been several stamped steels that I have used but this is by far the best of the bunch. Most of the time I just use the big channelock pliers, but that's not possible on my newest machine. I use them on my 1.8 liter Toyota (2009) to remove the plastic cartridge oil filter housing. What I like about it: 1. It fits tight. (As stated in another review, this could be considered a minus, but it doesn't slip.) 2. It has a 3/8" square drive (compared to some other hex drives) 3. Quality steel construction (not the cheap one plastic or aluminum that is short lived or does not work well) 4. Reasonable weight. I used some tools. which are very heavy. It's not too difficult. 5. Simply put, it works great. What I don't like about this product: 1. The price. Sure, it's more expensive than crappy plastic, but given what I know about it, I'd buy it again. 2. It's not a huge complaint, but it's not the size I want. Ultimately, I recommend this product if you like quality tools and aren't too concerned about paying the price.
