Bought this for my 10 year old daughter who loves all things nature. It was wonderful! A self-contained cupcake with tiny caterpillars that grew in a matter of days with no maintenance. It was incredible to see! They made their cocoons as expected and beautiful butterflies hatched from them! All 5 hatched great! The instructions are very simple and all that is really required is to open the cup and place the lid with the cocoons in the habitat. Just be forewarned, make sure you order this understanding that they will arrive alive and ready to begin the process immediately. So don't order if you're going on vacation or whatever. Once they form cocoons, you must move them to their habitat. If they hatch in a cup, they die. Feeding butterflies is easy and fun, and you release them after a few days. My daughter loved it so much we bought it for her! The fourth graders loved watching them grow and transform and they learned all about the life cycle of a butterfly!
