4 speed levels - great switch!

Excellent switch. Works exactly as intended. Telling Google to turn on the ceiling fan is great. At the moment (to my knowledge) Google can only turn the fan on and off and doesn't allow you to change the fan speed. That goes for both voice control and the Google Home app itself. Luckily, the switch remembers your last speed, so if you set it to 50% when you turn the fan off, it'll automatically go back to 50% when you use it A voice command through the Google Home app will turn the analog switch back on itself. That makes it really useful. You can control the fan speed with the app. That means you can adjust the fan speed from your phone, but not via the Google Home app or voice control. One thing that gave us extra work is that this fan/light control doesn't work in a 3 switch configuration. Controlling the fan and turning the light on and off was important to us, but didn't care about the dimming feature since we have a smart light strip that we use to control color and dim when we need lower brightness levels. Light or sensor lamps that we have placed on the sides of our bed. So I replaced our stupid 3 position light switches with a TreatLife 3 position switch and placed this fan/dimmer control switch next to one of the 3 position switches. I then simply connected the neutral, line, and ground wires to both switches. This allowed us to use a three position smart switch to turn the light on and off and we use that switch to control the fan. So we could turn on the fan when the light is off and vice versa. Since we're not using a dimmer to control the light level, I just plugged in the wire that was supposed to go to the light fixture and just connected the wire. to the fan. When I connected it to my WIFI network and Google Home, I noticed that it shows 2 different icons. One for the fan and one for the light. Since we didn't use the light part of the switch, I decided to add a light so that the fan speed can be controlled by voice command. The way it works is that you can use Google to control the dimming of the lights, just not the fan speed. This way I can dim the light from 0 to 100% but it doesn't really change anything for my light since that wire was covered. In the Smart Life app used by TreatLife you can set up automation routines. So I set up a procedure where every time the dimmer is set to 25%, the fan is also automatically set to 25%, every time the dimmer is set to 50%, the fan speed is set to 50% and so forth. (The fan has 5 speeds. Off, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%). I then change the name in the Google Home app for the dimmer switch to "Ceiling Fan Speed". So when I say "Hey Google, change the ceiling fan speed to 25%," it understands I'm talking about the light dimmer and sets the brightness to 25%. Because the light wire isn't connected to anything, the light level doesn't really change. The automation routine is then triggered when it sees the brightness is set to 25% and automatically sets the fan speed to 25%. You'll hear a few "clicks" in the switch as it makes adjustments and the fan speed hits 25%. So it's kind of a workaround, but it works really well for our setup. We get our cake and eat it too. If you actually used a light switch, I would find it quite annoying because the brighter the light, the faster the ceiling fan runs. But because we use a light bar to dim and a smart 3-way system to turn the lights on and off, everything feels natural.
