Original one star review, July 3, 2017: It seemed to work at first. But on the second use, on the way home, most of the LEDs on the screen no longer light up. The bottom row of lights are completely off. When you turn them on, you'll see a bunch of upside down "U" instead of zeros. The lower one is missing at 0, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8. You have to guess. The light showing the measurement in kg or pounds never came on. This means that the elements that light up are defective. This is not a battery. I checked. And the few parts that light up are pretty bright. And why this thing would show the temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius I have no idea. I didn't need a precise instrument. didn't need one. It seemed simple enough that most reviews thought it was appropriate. Maybe I just got a quality control runaway. But analog spring scales have fewer failures and seem to work well every time. It was a waste of time. If it were heavier I could take the batteries out and use it as a boat anchor. Tweak and Update, July 26: As regular readers of Revain reviews know, some sellers express a desire to fix issues in response to negative reviews. In a comment on my original one-star note, they provided an email address and promised a two-year warranty. When I posted the review it had been months since my purchase so I had no records or details which seems little to complain about. But I jumped at the chance, sat in a hotel halfway around the world and sent a message to their support team with photos of the dial readings missing the symbols on the labels and the bottoms of the numbers. . To my pleasant surprise, they asked for my address and quickly sent a replacement, which arrived about a day after I returned. No more questions were asked, it was not necessary to return defective devices. And the novelty worked as promised. I haven't traveled in over 2 weeks since receiving the package but I have tested the scale on various items around the house every other day. I haven't worn it out yet: the batteries are still strong, the numbers and symbols are bright, he weighed correctly, as you can see, although the cats didn't really like riding in the carriage and sway under the scales. Maybe mine wasn't the norm but they lived up to the warranty with no issues and I'm hoping not to wear them out for my next big ride in a few months.
