This was the first water bottle I've ever bought with a built in straw system. They were pretty smart with the design, but it's also a little clunky. As every time you let go of the nozzle, it will open, you have to be careful or some water will squirt out. Drinking through a straw also requires more force than usual due to the pressure when the lid is tightly closed. When you loosen the cap, the pressure returns to normal and you can drink just like any other straw without problems, but then it's no longer tight, so it doesn't help. I didn't want to detach it every time just to drink (I'm a person who doesn't drink enough water so I try to drink as soon as possible) and camelbak/thermoflask lids are much better for that. .
