Review on DRYCASE Masonboro Waterproof Adventure Backpack by James Lozoya

UPDATE: I've been using this bag every day since I bought it and it finally broke after 409 days. Interestingly, it wasn't the straps or the hole that failed. The vinyl at the bottom of the bag is torn (see photo). I could use it for a while but now the hole is big enough for something to fall out so I need to replace it. I will buy the same bag again because it is so wonderful. There is nothing like it! This time I'll see if there are any preventive measures I can take to protect the vinyl. Sealing Note: The packaging appeared to be sealed for the first month of use. After a while it didn't seal as well, although it stayed waterproof. I don't know if it ended up being submersible but I only needed it for protection from the rain and it takes it no problem. If you need a fully submersible bag for some trips, even a couple of weeks, this will do the trick. If you need a waterproof bag for the long haul, this is perfect! However, if you need a fully submersible tank for the long haul, consider a Pelican option or waterproof zippered bag instead of this retractable top design. Perhaps some form of preventative maintenance will protect the seal longer. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I would highly recommend this to any student, especially if you have expensive electronics. I bought this because I have a large laptop (ASUS G750JH) and it's almost impossible to find a backpack that fits these machines (forget waterproof). I ride my bike or go to school every day and wanted to make sure my computer was fully protected from rain or snow. This backpack is said to be fully submersible, although I haven't gone that far. Now I feel completely comfortable taking my laptop with me wherever I go, even when it's raining. Water never got in. As for space, I sometimes fill it to the brim, but I can always fit what I need. I can fit my laptop (in a neoprene case), three folders, a tablet, a laptop charger, a wireless mouse, a pocket of markers, a hole punch, some food and my sweatshirt in the main compartment. All this on my power bank with a couple of cables in an internal zipped compartment and my water bottle on the side. That's the most I've ever put into this thing. An unexpected advantage of this bag is that you can put it on the table, open the valve at the bottom and let all the air out. This results in all your books being pressed tightly against your back when you walk, whereas in regular backpacks they tend to lean away from your body. Also, items of clothing such as sweatshirts or raincoats shrink to a third or a quarter of their normal size. This has two effects: your center of gravity is much closer to your body, which increases comfort. Second, the pack doesn't stick out as much, making it easier to move, turn, and slide past people.
