Sometimes you just have to tap something to make it move. A steel hammer will damage the item, while a rubber hammer will deflect too much. These hammers are just right. Three different sizes for the same price as a hammer from another manufacturer. There may be applications where these hammers are not good enough and it is better to use an expensive one. But I didn't come across any. The plastic feels pretty solid, if not indestructible. On one I see a scratch from the end of the wooden pegs I drove in. Plastic also cleans well.
