Review on Kitma 13" Gas Wok Range - 95,000 BTU Commercial Natural Gas Restaurant Equipment by Darrell Kiley

Propane tank hook-up directions for dummies (like me!)

I needed more info to hook up this burner than what was available, so sharing here what I learned. I bought the 13" LP (liquid propane) burner and I use it with a standard 20lb propane tank (like the one for your gas grill). My first photo has my 18" wok--perfect size for my family of 4. (Other photo has 14" wok for comparison--way too small! Go to a restaurant store to buy a wok--$20 bucks!). FYI, if you want a lid, it should be 2" smaller than your wok. Shout out to Home Depot, here, for getting me all set up! Here's what is working for me:-get a LOW PRESSURE regulator hose on Ebay for $15-35 (if it will be outside, spring for the stainless steel hose so it lasts longer). Note: at first I tried a high pressure hose, like another reviewer recommended, and I had a lot of trouble getting the pilot light to work. Ultimately, it stopped working. I learned that a high pressure hose can kill the regulator that comes with the unit--so be sure to get LOW pressure hose! Also, the pilot light prefers a fuller propane tank, at least 1/3 full, FYI.-go to Home Depot or hardware store and get brass fittings. I needed 2 of them: 3/8" FL X 1/2" MIP and 3/4" MIP X 1/2" FIP (see photo). get plumbers' tape--cost maybe $15-20 total.-get the regulator that came with the wok and be sure you attach the blue tab-side closest to the burner when you screw it all together (another review has a close photo--Home Depot clerk looked it up to ensure safety). use plenty of plumber's tape.-on the other side of the regulator that came with the wok, screw in these brass fittings, and then connect them to your tank pressure hose. Use plumbers tape for all connections.-be sure the wok handle is turned down (horizontal) for OFF. turn on tank and pressure hose to check for gas leaks--paint dishwashing soap on all connections. I had a lot of leaks and had to put on more tape and hand tighten.-get the smallest grill cover available on Ebay--a generic brand--$20--to coverOverall, very pleased. Just took one star off because the manufacturer didn't provide better directions and they don't respond, as advertised, to service calls.
