My original bathroom fan was making a rattling noise. I disassembled everything and cleaned it a few times, but the noise came back very quickly. I bought this fan as a replacement and also bought an impeller to go with it. Excellent value for money and quality. Installation was very easy. I turned the switch off for safety but it wasn't really necessary as the fan and lamp have normal plugs to connect to the light fixture so no wiring was required. I removed the lamp cover and bulb. I unscrewed a decorative nut. Attaching the body of the lamp to the mounting box and removing the body. Then I unclipped the case - I used a screwdriver to pry open the latch. The result is a case with a fan installed on it. I replaced the fan (2 screws) and put the new fan on the axis of the new fan. I did the exact opposite when installing. It no longer rattles. 10 minutes work. I only gave 4 stars as the fan is louder than I expected.
