I am an Uber/Lyft driver and wanted to upgrade to a better camera and was looking for a better one. That's not it. I bought this camera and ran a cable from the front unit to the rear camera, ran the power cables to the windshield and installed everything. The images are good, but it adds to the problem of where to store the higher resolution, higher frame rate images. It eats up a 256GB SD card in about a day's drive. But that's not the biggest problem. On the record it hums on some streets. A kind of harmony between the road and the main unit, I thought it was a wire vibrating in the main body. I contacted their tech support in China and they said send us a video confirming the problem. I did that and they said the buttons on the main body were loose and they made a design change to fix the problem, sent the unit back to them (to China) and they will send me the corrected version in a couple of weeks. For real? Vantrue makes a design flaw and I don't have a dash cam for a couple of weeks while they fix it? So how do you know if you buy the current stock, you'll get the repaired one, or you'll have rattling buttons too? You will not. Okay, here's the biggest problem. I drive Uber and Lyft and want a CAMERA IN WIRE. This records cockpit audio but no video. You get clear video front and back but nothing in the cabin where I need it most for my safety and reputation. Why wouldn't a company make a box with three cameras, one in front, one in back and one inside (with IR) and sell it to Uber drivers? Why is there a pinwheel? He is not needed. You have to climb into the roof lining and frantically pull on the cables so that the cameras can be small and the "box" can be attached somewhere on the side and accessed with a smartphone. So you can easily customize features without cryptic buttons or hard-to-read displays. Due to the tilt of my window (Honda Insight or Toyota Prius) their display is difficult to read unless you detach it from the window bracket and look directly at it. UPDATE: Vantrue support sent me a replacement unit that doesn't have any buzzing/rattling buttons. I hope they remember the devices in Revain so other users don't have the same issues and I hope there is a way of knowing that it's an updated version and not the old design.
