, I am running a walking competition and need a pedometer that will count my steps/distance accurately. I have several routes that I walk regularly and had previously used a Fitbit (which died) and phone apps to measure distance. On the same routes, these watches cover a much greater distance. I checked my phone's GPS app and plotted my course on Google Maps, and where three other objects were close together, this one added about 1.5 extra miles to a 2.5-mile walk. As a result, I cannot accurately measure my true distance and there is no way to calibrate it. The pedometer also seems wobbly. I check the score, then count my steps, and it wasn't what the watch registered. In my physical form, 10,000 steps was a little over 4 miles, here it's a lot more. *** UPDATE *** After a week the pedometer and distance setting stopped working. I ran a few kilometers and nothing was recorded either. Now scrap.
