As others have pointed out, some of the seller's photos show a very dirty, used unit with all connection cables severed. This is misleading - this is in fact a brand new power supply from Mean Well. I connected it to my electronic load HP 6060A. Since no current was being drawn, the voltage out of the box was ideally set at 5.1V. I immediately increased the load to 1A and it behaved very well - no drawdowns and the voltage stayed very stable at 5.1V. I left it at that for a few minutes and then went back and did a touch/smell test to check seek warmth. No magic smoke or "warm component smell" and all sides of the case felt very cool. I've tried the same for 2, 3 and 4 amps - each time I've let it sit for 5-10 minutes I've then come back to study the supply. Even with higher currents I could not detect any heating. I did a poor man's "ripple" measurement using an Agilent 34401A AC voltage measurement set: 1mV at 1A 2mV at 2A 2.8mV at 3 AI I didn't have any cables handy that could handle higher currents, and 3A was almost the maximum for my use case, so I settled on that. But at 3A and below the numbers look very good.
