I use this drill bit with a Bosch 11240 1-9/16" rotary hammer and it gnaws through concrete with minimal effort. I've drilled about 25 holes with it and the bit still sees brand new out. About a minute to drill 8" of concrete, minimal pressure on the tool. Having four cutter heads makes a huge difference. I have not experienced any binding at all. We use this drill bit to drill through the base assembly and concrete (about 20" of dead space before we touch the top foundation) to install the threaded rod with epoxy for the clamps. Will definitely be buying again. A small note: we pre-drilled the wood as needed - although these drill bits will likely end will drill through the wood on your own, it takes forever, drill a pilot hole of the same diameter in the wood panels or you will sit for a while. Anyone involved in construction knows this, but the average homeowner might not. Of course, if you're drilling directly into concrete, this doesn't apply.
