For real? Waterproof sockets?

I have to admit I didn't have the courage to try it outside in the pouring rain. These little holes are filled with water.? I use it on an open deck where it can get wet, but the USB port doesn't fill up with oak pollen and water. The instructions say not to submerge it in water. It should be hung away from standing water and rising water. The compact size and combination of socket and USB port make it a great travel charger. I can charge all devices easily. The long power cord ensures I can keep my device charged and accessible no matter where the plug is hidden. I'm very happy with this socket, even if I don't dare test it in the rain.
