Review on HighLetgo Compatible Duemilanove Driver Shield by Nathaniel Collins

Both L293D chips did not work. I don't have a surge. I switched the engines to M1, M2, M3 and M4 and changed the code accordingly each time. I also used V1 of the AF library to customize this version of the shield. I then pulled each IC out of its socket to do a basic test using the code I had previously used successfully on the L293D ICs. They definitely don't work, the IC tips or leads are white from oxidation and very flexible. I have used high quality L293Ds in the past and they had much stronger connectors. I have purchased from this seller before and have received very reliable parts which I have been using for several months now. I think the ICs they used on this batch of boards just aren't good. The real shield is in good condition and luckily I can swap out the chips as they are removable. But in general I spent too much time debugging an element that should have worked. I hope they send me undamaged ICs or just give me my money back. Sorry for the bad rating. I hate doing this to people but I didn't get an item that works as it should :((
