I bought this in November 2017 to backup an external hard drive that has failed. It wasn't formatted for Mac so I had to find out. Yesterday I plugged it in after using it maybe 3 times and it failed. First the folders were shown but they were all empty. Then I got a message that the hard drive is damaged, but I can still copy the files, I just can't make any changes to them. I quickly copied a folder to my desktop. Right after that it crashed again and all folders were empty again. The spinning wheel turned for more than 15 minutes. I tried again on our desktop - he didn't even recognize it. I've tried plugging it back into my laptop - although it's visible in Disk Utility and System Profiler, I can't access it at all. Followed all the instructions on their website and wrote to their support team. They said I could get a diagnosis for free and they would send it back to me if I didn't like their offer. So I have to spend about $200 to recover data after your drive fails? No thank you. position
