I bought one of these for my truck over a year ago and it still works as intended. I recently wanted to install Garmin GPS navigators in the cars my wife and son drive. Since both have (relatively) newer vehicles, there isn't a flat spot on either car to mount a standard GPS mount. (except maybe the hood or roof, which aren't very good for GPS positioning). Those are the only mounts that work. They seem a little pricey for a piece of plastic, but this is the only game in town. I would recommend this mount to anyone who can't decide where to place their Garmin Nuvi. Pay attention to installation - place it on a smooth (not rocky or grainy) flat surface. Wipe the surface with an alcohol wipe or a cloth soaked in alcohol and allow to dry. Press STRONGLY on the device where you want, then leave it alone for 24 hours. Don't try to reposition it or put your GPS on it until it's just sat undisturbed 24 hours a day.
