I bought one of these for my truck over a year ago and it still works as intended. I recently wanted to install Garmin GPS navigators in the cars my wife and son drive. Since both have (relatively) newer vehicles, there isn't a flat spot on either car to mount a standard GPS mount. (except maybe the hood or roof, which aren't very good for GPS positioning). Those are the only mounts that work. They seem a little pricey for a piece of plastic, but this is the only game in town. I would recommend

I bought a pair of these mounts earlier (December 2019). The ball size is 17mm, the same as literally everything except the Rhino 1" mounts.
