I was looking for the best way to hold my GPS in the car. The windshield suction cup sometimes fell off, and a large sticky dash pad was in my line of sight. Then I saw these guys. They have good adhesion but make sure you place them on a relatively flat part of the dashboard and clean the stain with some rubbing alcohol first. (Just in case there's little left of Armor All). I couldn't find a flat spot on my truck's dashboard, so I drilled two small holes to attach the bracket with small screws. (But that's my truck). The mount has a built in adjustment which is good! The sphere is the right size for the Garmin Nuvi and holds the GPS securely. I also took a chance on my pluggable power cord (this has nothing to do with assembly) and severely shortened it! Cutting, splicing, soldering, shrink tubing, no problem. Now the setup on my dashboard looks very neat. Very happy with the whole facility.
