My waist is exactly 48". When I measured the belt I got exactly 50" this way. But what is the need for such measurements? When you wear the belt, that is Hole that the pin goes through, on the OUTSIDE end of the buckle When I measure this strap from the outside end of the buckle, the distance to the 5th (last) hole is 49". This belt is too big for me or anyone other with a 48 waist. I'm looking at a new belt that needs new holes to make it smaller and will give me about 7" of excess. I have no idea of the other reviews people have said , they need 2 or 3 sizes bigger except they were from a few years ago Reading helped me find the wrong size.
