Review on Aqua Buff 2000 Quart: Unleashing the Ultimate Polishing Power by Ryan Hadden

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty good stuff. Not the easiest application, but the results justify it.

It's dirty as many boat site reviews say, but it works well. I recently bought an old Bayliner trophy model and it has been somewhat neglected. Sturdy boat but not much shine anymore. I used a 3m circle to remove all the decals and then buffed with Aquabuff. I used a wool pad on a cheap harbor cargo swing buffer at speed 4. It took me some time to learn how much to apply and how much water to add, but once I got the hang of it it went pretty smoothly. Generally, continue to work with medium pressure until you have removed most of the residue and then use a microfiber cloth to remove the residue. Be sure to abandon metal fittings, otherwise everything will turn out ugly. Colors an area black almost instantly. I am very satisfied with the result. Apply a coat of kollinite marine wax as a protectant and it's a brand new boat.

Pros
  • Swirl finish without marks - you get a perfect finish
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
