A long time ago I bought a phone stabilizer from the company that created the first camera stabilization platform. It was solely based on balance, required a lot of adjustments to work, and then quickly went unbalanced. I lost interest in such products until recently when I found out about gimbals like the Moza MX. I bought Moza to see if it was time to change my mind. It looked well made and was in my price range. A quick summary of my experience before going into detail is that it works fairly well, but it's not a panacea that will make you a master - it still takes practice to use this tool skillfully. While Moza goes a long way in smoothing vertical movement while walking, you should still develop some skills to make the final video look great. After taking the stabilizer out of the box, I was dying to try it. I quickly found that reading the manual was helpful, so I figured out how to download and set up the software on my phone. When putting your phone in a stand, it's important that it is as balanced as possible. It doesn't have to be perfect. My iPhone 11 Max Pro with the case was very tight. I switched to a thinner case to make it easier to fit in the mount. Once that's done, launch the software and turn on the stabilizer, pair your phone and the stabilizer and you're done. which button did what. My initial results were a bit disappointing as the up and down motions were still there and the walking motions weren't fully smoothed out. I researched on the internet and learned a lot: The most important thing about walking is to do it in such a way that the camera stays in a stable plane. Using a wheelchair was usually recommended, but careful walking with slipping legs and bending forward in a crouched position will help minimize the ups and downs. This is most commonly referred to as Ninja Walk and you can see many demos on YouTube. You can find out more about technology etc. on the Internet if you want or need to know more. There are many other reviews showing photos and videos of the stabilizer in action. Rather than repeating what's already out there, I've uploaded a video showing how much movement the Moza eliminates, as well as the improvement after a ninja walk workout. I'm looking forward to getting out and using the setup more - I'd love to start adding videos along with the photos I take. I think the Moza MX is definitely a product to look at when looking for a gimbal stabilizer.
