Our floors are in very poor condition - they were renovated when we got married (20 years ago) and the company only treated them with preservative once. As a result, they had absolutely no shine and after many years of dogs and children, the scratches were very noticeable. We decided to try this product in our family room where we spend most of our time. Application is simple but a little tedious - you have to wash the floor, wash it again with a cleaner, and then apply layers of the polish. We really needed 2 coats and if I had time and more product I would have done 3 but the result was fantastic. On our floors, the sheen isn't overpowering - more like a satin - but the sheen just makes everything look better. Eventually we'll have them professionally sanded and repainted, but until then I'll definitely be buying another one or two for all the floors below. Now we just did that so I have no idea how long the shine will last - the company recommends doing this process every 2-3 months so you can decide if you want to proceed with it; However, for a party or special occasion where you want everything to look good, this product might be for you.
