I only bought this flashlight to buy a second one because the "blue box" (transceiver) installed in the fan where the remote control is connected keeps buzzing/humming on the first fan. While everything worked fine, this indicates sparking and means part durability may be an issue. The second fan hums much more quietly, but only when the light is first switched on, about 4-5 seconds. Turning on the fan with a transceiver made no sound. I was pissed off at first because like so many others here I found the lights to be on full brightness and not adjustable. It turns out that you need to activate this function (can't find it anywhere in the attached literature): 1. Turn off the light with the wall switch. 2. Turn on the light with the wall switch. 3. Press and hold the "0" button on the wireless remote control. 4. While holding "0", double tap the light on/off button on the remote control. 5. If successful, the blue light on the wireless remote control will flash quickly for a few seconds. 6. When it stops, turn on the light (if not already on) with the wireless remote control. 7. Now press and hold the light button on the remote control. The light will be weak. To make it brighter again, you have to hold the button down until the light is completely dimmed, and then brighten again.
