The chair has a moderate amount of give to it, and it has a high back and armrests that are fastened in place. The seat is really pleasant to sit on. Cons: The package contained one screw that did not have a groove for the head and had a faulty head as a result. It was a separate purchase that I had to make at a hardware store.
