Review on πŸ”§ Aluminum Carpenter Clamps for Woodworking Positioning by Trae Joubert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very accurate high quality material and workmanship

Failed to load media. These aluminum angles are incredibly useful and versatile for woodworking. I already have several other brands and designs. But, like clamps, I never have enough for complex assemblies. And the brand prices are ridiculously high. They are great for keeping things straight when assembling and gluing. They are excellent for cornering and tool calibration. But I also use them for things like attaching a long piece of wood at right angles to a drill press table when drilling a butt. In the video I've attached you can see how I check squareness with a digital protractor. The squares are VERY accurate. with an accuracy of 0.002 inches on both hands. They are made from a relatively thick, but light, high-quality aluminum alloy, so they retain this accuracy for a very long time, even with high downforce. The clamps are certainly of good quality, but the threaded rod and handle feel a little cheap, at least compared to the quality of the square, which is top-notch. Parentheses are good, but probably not that useful. It's much faster for me with spring clamps or other types of quick clamps. The assembly of the clips included in the kit takes quite a long time. However, they have the advantage that they do not get in the way of the other side of the clamp because they are caught in the middle. This can be useful in certain situations. The clips have 6 holes on each side plus one in the corner giving MANY clip options and flexibility. Overall I am very impressed with these squares. The quality is definitely there. Excellent materials and workmanship, the accuracy is as good as you can expect. Brackets are less impressive but nice to have. The price is definitely "there". But if, like me, you value precision and the highest quality tools and jigs, this is a great product to consider.
