Review on Dorman 55208 Help Control Cable by Shahed Cleveland

I needed to replace the trunk lid release system in my '74 Beetle. The original design was - to put it mildly - a complete failure by the guys who came up with Mercedes, BMW and Porsche. :) This semi-rigid cable was perfect because it can be adjusted to the right length. I first removed the inner wire and bent the outer sleeve slightly, then cut it to length, sprayed some lube on it, then reinserted the wire and cut accordingly. delivered - so it took some "gymnastics" to relax and straighten it so it moves with less friction. The price can't be beat for the longevity.
