I have decided to take a chance with this item and have not had it long enough to review the nature of the durability but it fits and replaces perfectly Your Jeep TJ Center Console Latch and Lock (Cannot talk about other Jeeps). The only real difference is how it stays on the console door. Your factory one is spring loaded and this one has a nut that you tighten with channel locks on the bottom. But that's not a problem, the latch fits perfectly into the hole in the center console and clicks into place every time. So instead of paying $35-$40 for a real replacement, give this a try. Let's face it, the armrest console isn't the best place to store things anyway, but this lock and latch works really well. Saved a lot of money and satisfied. This kit includes a washer that raises the finger when the button is pressed, but you can't use this part without modifying it a bit. But to be honest, the original doesn't have one, and you still grab the lid to lift it.
