The hat was perfect - the mittens didn't stay

This hat was perfect in winter for my child aged 18 months to 2 years. This kept his head warm and dry, and the Velcro kept it in place. He stretched a little so that by the end of winter he had almost lost his chin. The mittens were thick and warm, but they didn't stay. They don't tighten around the wrist (the elastic didn't help much) so they often fell off when my son tried to use his hands.
