Review on 📷 Fujifilm XF50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR Lens by Tanya Meyers

Concerned about 56mm 1.2 vs 90mm² vs 50-140 2.8. I have all three at the moment but plan to only keep two of them. I think I'll keep 50-140 and 56.1.2. 50-140 is incredibly versatile. It's on par with the Canon 70-200 2.8 ii and Canon 70-200 F4 IS that I've owned before. Canon 70-200 2.8 is still better in terms of bokeh and higher magnification. The downside is 500g of extra weight, and if you add another 500g of full-size bodyweight, that adds up to another 1kg. It is not at all interesting to carry it around for a long time. I sold both Canon lenses as I have a Fuji 50-140. The optical image stabilization is very effective. The autofocus is fast and accurate. The image quality is very high. I can't find any obvious flaws. Unfortunately, this lens has a low magnification factor. Let's say I want to take a close-up of a flower, but this lens can't do it. The bokeh is decent but not impressive. Therefore I have 56 1.2. Small enough to take with you just in case. When I first received the lens, I was surprised to hear a rattling noise when I shook the lens slightly. It turns out that this was perfectly normal and intentional. My Canon lenses don't make any noise at all, so at first I didn't like what I was hearing. But after a while I got used to it. The noise disappears when the camera is turned on and returns when it is turned off. The rest of the build quality is very high. It makes me want to keep it. I just want to move my Canon 70-200 2.8. There was a time when I had both a Canon 70-200 f4 and a Fuji 50-140. The choice wasn't as obvious as 70-200 2.8 versus 50-140. Both the 70-200 f4 and the Fuji equivalent offer excellent image quality. If I mount a Canon 70-200 f4 on a Canon 6D series, the combo weighs about the same as an xt2 + 50-140 combo. The bokeh feels better on the gun and is about 200g lighter. In the end I chose Fuji because I really like my xt2. And while the 50-140 is bigger and a bit heavier, it's a notch faster, making it a potentially great event lens. Also, OIS is much quieter and appears to be more efficient. Most importantly, I have already sold all of my full frame guns. And the only way to use Canon is to install it on your M5. By the time I add the adapter, the difference in size has disappeared. In summary, I am very happy that I bought this Fujinon 50-140 lens as a general purpose lens. It is by no means small, but very manageable. It is weather resistant. This allows me to use lower ISOs thanks to the extremely efficient OIS. If you like traditional DSLRs like the Canon 5d series and don't mind the weight then I think the combination of 5Div and 70-200 f2.8 is still better due to better bokeh and higher magnification. But I disagree. i'm getting old I just want something lighter and handier.
