I am a size 12 bordering on a 14. I'm having a really hard time finding a zip up skirt that fits without growing in size and looking unkempt or smaller and not too tight. I ordered XL and it seemed to fit the bill for the in-between sizes. The band is made from the same stretchy fabric as the skirt, which is lovely - I think a tight elastic or elastic will rip and slip off. The fit was good and made me look curvy. I'm in my 50's, 5ft 8in, 170lbs. The skirt hit my knees and was very flattering. I ordered a blue flower - a very nice pattern and a red one. A few "flaws" - the band was a little torn and the seams on the hem were a little crooked, although the hem was not. Very minor flaws for the price but something to be aware of when ordering a solid color skirt. can be more noticeable. I doubt anyone will notice, but it might bother some people. The skirt was very comfortable and I was able to move around easily, would recommend. It can be worn up or down. I started the day in a blazer and heels and by the end of the day switched to casual shoes and a light black denim jacket.
