I wanted to mount the mic boom to my desk, but the desk has a beveled edge - meaning the lower (adjustable) part of the clamp only partially engages the floor surface. This, of course, was a problem for several reasons. I saw and ordered this product to try and it works great! Unfortunately, I don't even use the large slab intended for the countertop, just the underside. This is the right size to extend the clamping surface to the full depth of the C-Clamp and being steel there is no risk of it bending or breaking under load. This solved my problem! However, it's well made and looks good - if you want it all.
