Beware! (Update) for Printers and Accessories

I've always found LD cartridges to be a good choice and have had little trouble with them in the past, but not this time. Cyan, magenta and yellow bars unpack and load into my HP 6968 with no problem. Black clothing was a different story. The cellophane wrapper (the first layer after opening the outer box) was oddly "inflated" like a balloon. It should have warned me, but there was no leak inside, so I ripped open the outer shell and examined it - nothing out of the ordinary. The next step is to pull on the tab, which will release the inner shrink wrap surrounding the cartridge itself. As I did so, a stream of black ink erupted from the top of the cartridge, covering my hands and dripping onto the floor. Luckily I have tile floors because the carpet would be ruined. If you've ever tried to get inkjet ink out of your skin, you know how angry I was. To make matters worse, my HP printer refused all four refills and won't print anything. To their credit, LD customer service apologized and promised to replace me in 4 days. Not quite prime, but better than nothing. They also said that the new refill would remove the error message and let the device print. If so, I will update this review. Conclusion: be extremely careful when opening. If the outer film is hard or swollen, DO NOT open the inner shrink film! Request a replacement instead. Update (9/13/17) - So my replacement black cartridge arrived yesterday and the same thing is happening AGAIN! Luckily, I tried wrapping it in a towel before pulling on the shrink wrap, but the ink spattered onto my bare fingers anyway. DO NOT buy them unless you are willing to suffer the same fate. I will never buy LD products again!
