Too many enthusiasts unintentionally pressurize their liquid cooling systems. If you close the loop and then heat the coolant, the coolant expands, but where? This increases your PSI, causes leaky connections, and even pushes hard wires out of sockets. They are unaware of their mistake and blame the faucet manufacturer. Although closing the loop safely is possible, doing so requires attention and care. You should run it in hot conditions and then use the manual pressure relief valve to normalize the pressure. Of course, if your systems get very hot, you'll have a vacuum when you cool them down. It is unlikely that this will make a difference, but depending on your setup it could still be the case. In my opinion, the best solution is to *NOT* close the loop completely. That's what this hardware is for! No, not as part of your plumbing, but as part of your exhaust system, like the top of your tank with a small air gap in between. It will gradually and automatically equalize the pressure. Yes, if you overfill or the tower falls over, coolant will drip, so don't do that. It's really not that difficult. And if you can, bring it to the outside of your case and if it drips then you'll have a stain on the carpet instead of a short. Presumably this also increases evaporation from the loop, but that's why this fitting uses Teflon, which is inherently hydrophobic. This means that while its micropores are relatively breathable, they tend to repel moisture, thus limiting evaporation.
