This is my first comforter that I have ever used in my life as I have always had a comforter on my bed. This thing is sooooo light, plump, soft and comfortable. I don't think I will ever go back to quilts. I'm in love! It's really light but still retains heat. It feels like I'm sleeping on a cloud. Of course, putting it in a duvet cover took a lot of effort, but it was worth it. Edit to add: After sleeping with it for weeks, I woke up in a sweat many times. I had to keep the AC on a lower temp at night and my ceiling fan was on full blast but it was still so hot underneath. I live in a very hot and humid state so I have a feeling I will have this problem no matter what blanket I use.
