Because this material wraps about an inch around the upper, it gives the impression of being thick, but in reality the entire sole is only about 1/16 inch thick (and soft). I don't think $40 is cheap for slippers and while the rest of the material and finish is good I have a feeling you can expect 3+ months of moderate wear soles. I feel justified in waiting for credit for another pair if not a full refund and I don't see why I should accept less from an online purchase so I consider this review an open letter to the Seller (who undoubtedly enlists the help of the manufacturer) who admits my complaint and does everything his conscience allows.
