WD is the way to go, especially if they don't put junk on their external hard drives, and I'm happy to say that's not crap. This unit requires no power other than a USB connection and in my experience it doesn't give up after a year like most Seagate drives I've worked with. You can't get less than 2TB these days. The price difference between 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB is extremely negligible (50 for 1TB, 60 for 1.5, 70 for 2TB). That's $20 more for doubling the capacity. And by the time you buy this, chances are you'll already have your primary hard drive full. So just go for 2TB or more.
