The light works well, but there are a few things you need to do. First, these lamps are cheap, so you get what you pay for. I've done my research and a common complaint has been that they aren't waterproof, which is easily overcome by applying silicone to the top and bottom of the wires. The biggest issue I had was that the electrical connection (plug) is cheap and doesn't fit the socket. So I went to HD, bought a new plug and plugged it in. After that I had no problems. We had rain and the lights work fine. Again, you get what you pay for, but if you're willing and able to make a few tweaks, the light outside will work just fine. You can only give full stars in the rating, but I would give these fixtures 2.5 stars. I hope this helps you in your decision-making process.
