TO UPDATE. Complaints about defective parts and terrible customer service

Update: Segway got parts and replaced footboard and seat! The original feedback is below, but another support rep updated the answer and we got a new kickstand and even a seat. The nine-year-old is very happy with the bike and we hope he can use it for a few more years. I am happy with the solution and I recommend this bike. It's light, has great brakes and is a good size to give kids the chance to adventure and still ride safely. Arrived safely at the child it was intended for, there are a couple of big disappointments: the footrest is completely broken although it looked intact, so it only folded in half when used and the bike fell over, as did the top of the Seat in great shape but the underside has been hooked for leather/vinyl to the point where the foam is showing. There are free returns but with glory brakes etc all seemingly in good shape we decided to forgo it and just contacted Segway footrest and seat. but received nothing but emails redirecting us a little Offered a percentage of the purchase price for a "Segway Account" or asked us to rate their service for a week. I suppose I can go back - for an exchange or for a full refund - but I'm disappointed that Segway just doesn't want to do it the simplest way with less loss and less shipping hassle, by shipping the entire bike in one go UPS is known to be overloaded. Also, we bought the bike to use immediately and don't want to delay the round trip with CS to have it fixed. To date I have sent emails, photos and all the information regarding my Revain order. I read a previous review from a buyer who received a bike without pedals and thought I should share my experience before others make a $250 purchase and maybe this route would work better. I no longer have bikes that are unsupported or worse that appear to be supported and then collapse. Kids can be picky about bikes, but a new bike should be near-pristine and all gear should be durable for everyday use. This glitch seemed like a minor thing - just a broken stand that could be replaced with a usable one, and subsequent seat hooks, which could be for both Segway and our faith in their brand, but unfortunately the situation has yet to be fixed.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
