I hope this is helpful. I'm 6ft 2in, about 210 and a 41ft waist (ugh). So it is necessary. I bought size XL. The size depends on the size of the bust and should really be the size of the waist. If I were to choose a bust size I would be between large and XL. So I played. It was difficult but I understand what they are. It was snug/comfortable enough but only slightly changed the way my stomach looked. I think if I bought a big one it would be too tight. So I'll wear it as it helps a little. and it's not uncomfortable.
