I've used the metric system my whole life until I had to work on an American made device and found everything in imperial units. No one can imagine how difficult it is to convert fractions to metric values or compare fraction sizes with a metric programmed mind. I had to use my fingers like I was back in kindergarten instead of an engineering degree! In my misery I see this caliper with shots imprinted on its stem in its original X/Y form, oh my god why did it take me so long to find this life saver, it's more than enough for me to make a little justify higher price and not very accurate (it's more than enough for what I do). Now I don't have to look like some stupid kid comparing 3/4", or 7/8", or 5/16, or what the hell those demonic numbers look like, because I have this sword to put those numbers in place and to bring job .
