Review on Saucony Womens Freedom Running Medium Women's Shoes ~ Athletic by Lora Schnabel

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This is my third pair of running shoes ISO

This is my third pair of Saucony Women's Freedom ISO running shoes. For the first pair, I was foolish enough to pay full price through the Saucony website. I run 15-21 miles a week. My first pair ran 380 miles before needing replacement. In fact, I've been able to stretch them up to 400 miles. Pros: - Comfortable fit after breaking in (took me about 10 miles) - I ran a little faster in them than in Nike Free running shoes - Less calluses than Nike Free running shoes. Pretty easy. The sole is very well made and offers good grip. This is especially important as I run outside most of the time and am very clumsy. I have fallen THREE TIMES in one year in Nike Free shoes (disclaimer - my dog was complicit in 2 falls) - the first time I hurt my knee, the second time I broke my tailbone, the third time I had the braces broken. Shrapnel and jaw as my face touched the cement. That third fall required almost a year of treatment from a jaw specialist, so I switched from Nike to Saucony. I didn't fall in the 380 miles I ran in Saucony. - Well balanced and fit for me at the gym. Cons: - The fabric part of the shoe is poorly made. After about 300 miles my toes started poking through the top and sides of the shoes. I trim my toenails all the time, but my toes are a bit odd, so maybe my physiology is partly to blame. I also blew a hole in my Allbirds in less than 6 months of regular/infrequent wear. That being said, I've never put holes in Nike Free sneakers - I don't like the way these shoes lace up. When I lace it up tight it seems to choke my ankle and make running quite uncomfortable. If I tie it loosely, I get more blisters. I haven't had this problem with other running shoes. Overall, for the low price of $50, I will buy these shoes again and again. This gives me a good range of 350-400 miles per pair. But I will never buy full price again. The price of 160€ is not worth it.
