1. The hooks have clips to keep them from falling out of the attachment point while you are tightening the straps - much easier and the clips don't cause any problems attaching or detaching. 2. The ratchet system is very smooth, securely tightens and loosens without having to struggle with it. 3. 4 loops is great! (I use them on a motorcycle, but they work well for making attachment points to various "things" as long as they have 360 degree access and not much more than about 3 inches - I can create a loop around). 4, A good pocket to store the straps when not in use (it may actually be advisable to wrap the straps around).
