They are of much better quality than those sold at local hardware stores for the same price. They run smoothly, have load capacity tags, and the extra straps on the handlebars come in handy for a variety of purposes. I bought these because I was tired of struggling with the ones I bought at my local hardware store six months ago. Shop-branded camouflage straps went in the trash.

Belts weigh 1760 lb. breaking strength. These straps and ratchet are exactly the same as another cheaper set of straps from other brands that I own. The hooks have a better shape and a closed latch, which is very convenient. If the load settles and the belt becomes slack, it will not come loose. Hooks are made of steel of the same diameter and covered with thick plastic. Thick plastic quickly falls off the hooks and causes them to rust. Hope this review helps.

1. The hooks have clips to keep them from falling out of the attachment point while you are tightening the straps - much easier and the clips don't cause any problems attaching or detaching. 2. Haven't used them yet but like everyone else they advertise a heavy duty ratchet and then show off as light metal as any other brand (none of these companies know what heavy duty is). OK if you look at the description they call it "paper clip" whatever it is it works. I think all ratchet straps should have a "clip" to secure the hook. It is not always possible to secure the load in such a way that the line never sags, the clip prevents the hook from falling off when the line is pulled in again.
