These ended up being a lot nicer than I was expecting! I'm using them for cable management on the underside and back of a standing desk. The magnet back and metal edges are not rough, so they shouldn't scratch the surface they're stuck to.If you actually need these to hold significant weight, I'd go up a size. The 22lb magnets are reasonably strong, but I'm not sure they're *that* strong.
